What we hear

The complaints we keep getting.
And what we do about them.

"Mindbody can't model a family. Husband and wife share a login, kid uses dad's QR, no one tracks who actually came in."
Family memberships are first-class. Head of household invites the partner + adds each kid with a DOB. Everyone gets their own login, rotating QR, and class history. Front desk sees the family on the roster, not a shared blob.
"We have a pool, rock wall, courts, spa, and 40 weekly classes. ClubAutomation's app makes members fight to do anything."
One app, one nav. Pool lanes, courts, spa appointments, Kids' Club, classes — all the same booking flow. AI concierge can do two at once: "book me a pool lane and a Kids' Club spot at 6."
"Members screenshot their QR and pass it to friends. We comp dozens of unauthorized visits a month."
Rotating QR refreshes every 10 seconds. The screenshot stops scanning before the member leaves the building. Real numbers: typical club recovers $400–$900/mo of leaked access.
"Mindbody just raised our rate again. We're at $349/mo and our members still complain about the consumer app."
Two pricing tracks: $0/mo + 0.5% on Stripe Connect, or $199/mo flat. Either one is cheaper than Mindbody. Members get YOUR-club-branded app, not a Mindbody-branded one.
"Our spa, our personal training, and our group fitness all live in separate vendors. Each one rebills the member."
One Stripe Connect account. Memberships, spa appointments, PT packages, drop-in classes, retail, F&B — all on one card-on-file, one ledger. Members see one statement per month.
"Kids' Club is paper sign-ins. The check-in lady misses kids, parents complain."
Kids' Club is an amenity with capacity caps and a 90-min max. Parents book a spot in the app, the check-in attendant scans the kid's QR (or the parent's if the kid is under 6). No more lost sheets.
"Members just walk up to the front desk and cancel. We never see it coming."
Cinch flags fading members from check-in drop-off before they cancel — and when one taps cancel in the app, the save flow asks why and offers a pause or a discount first. Most saves happen right there, with no extra work for staff.
"Staff and members have ideas, but they die on a clipboard at the front desk."
A built-in suggestion box. Staff and members submit ideas in-app, leadership triages them in one place. Nothing gets lost — and the member experience stops earning "disgusting" on the feedback forms.
"A member signs up — and then nothing. No one helps them book a first class, they don't know the instructors, they get bored 20 minutes in and quietly stop coming. The first 90 days decide everything and we have no way to win them."
Cinch cultivates a power user. Day-one suggested goals, a guided path into the member's first classes, instructor profiles so they know who they're walking toward, and gamified streaks + levels that make showing up addictive. Check-in analytics flag a fading member before the fire goes out — not after they've already cancelled.

What we built specifically for them
  • Family memberships. The head of household invites a spouse and adds kids by DOB. Each member gets their own rotating QR. Mindbody can’t model this.
  • Multi-amenity AI concierge. Members ask “is there a hot yoga class tonight?” or “book me a pool lane and a Kids’ Club spot at 6” — the AI handles both in one conversation.
  • Rotating QR check-in.The code refreshes every 10 seconds — the screenshotted-code problem that costs Mindbody clubs real money goes away.
  • White-label on day one. Members never see “Cinch” — only Treehouse branding, Treehouse colors, the Treehouse logo on their phone.
  • Retention engine.Visit streaks, monthly goals, at-risk member flags — the metrics that actually move renewal rates above 75%.
  • Personal training portal. Treehouse trainers build workout + meal plans and share them with clients in-app — the Trainerize experience, native to the Treehouse-branded app, no separate login.
  • Gamified engagement.A star on first check-in, Peloton-style levels, monthly step + visit challenges, and a live leaderboard for the lobby TVs — replacing the handwritten poster by the front desk.

Built in, not bolted on

Features your operators care about.

The things we shipped specifically because full-service gyms + athletic clubs told us they were missing.

Family + household memberships

Head of household, partner, kids by DOB. Sibling discounts. Each member gets their own QR, class history, and visit streak. The data layer knows when an account is a parent of a minor and adjusts permissions automatically.

Pool, courts, rock wall — one booking system

Amenities have capacity caps, slot intervals, member-vs-guest pricing, and tier-based access ("premium only for the spa, family-and-up for Kids' Club"). Members book everything from the same page.

Group fitness scheduling

Drag-and-drop weekly schedule. Recurring patterns, waitlists that auto-promote, capacity caps per class, instructor profiles on the booking page. Sub-system that drives 60% of member engagement.

Spa + personal training

Spa appointments and PT packages model as amenities with their own capacity, tier permissions, and pricing rules. Stripe Connect captures the charge, settles to your account, 0.5% to Cinch (or 0% on the $199/mo flat track).

Kids' Club daycare

Capacity-capped, 90-min max per visit, restricted to family + premium tiers. Parents book in the app, check-in attendant scans the QR. Audit log on every drop-off and pickup.

Multi-amenity AI concierge

"Book me a pool lane and a Kids' Club spot at 6." "Add my wife to my family membership." "Is there a hot yoga class tonight after work?" Tool-using AI with preview/confirm on every mutation.

Rotating QR check-in

Each member's QR refreshes every 10 seconds. Screenshot-shared codes stop working before the member leaves the building. Front-desk app shows live member photo + tier + at-risk flag.

White-label native-feeling app

Members tap Share → Add to Home Screen. YOUR club's icon on their phone, YOUR brand at the top, YOUR colors. No App Store delays, no Cinch branding anywhere.

Personal training portal

Every trainer gets their own login. They build workout programs and meal plans and share them with clients right inside your branded app — the Trainerize experience, native to your gym. Clients see today's workout, log it, and message their trainer without leaving the app.

Streaks, levels + leaderboards

Members earn a star on first check-in and level up from there, Peloton-style. Monthly step + visit challenges, gym-wide leaderboards on the lobby TVs, and watch/Garmin sync. The handwritten poster by the front desk becomes a live, addictive scoreboard.

Unit economics

Why we’re a tenth of the price
of the incumbents.

Cinch’s monthly base is the floor. We make most of our money on a small percentage of bookings — which means we’re only winning when you’re winning.

How Cinch makes money
Just 0.5% per charge. Or $199/mo flat.

Pay-as-you-go is $0/mo + 0.5% per transaction. All-Inclusive is $199/mo flat with zero transaction fees. Mindbody charges you $279/mo whether your members show up or not — and adds marketplace fees, payment-processing markups, and per-module upsells on top.

Side-by-side

Mindbody works. It also costs $279/mo and members hate it.

Apples-to-apples on starting price + what you actually get for it.

Mindbody$129–349/moThe default. Dated UX, no family memberships, members hate the consumer app, price keeps going up. Builds for boutique studios but used by full-service clubs out of inertia.
ClubAutomation (Jonas)$500–2,000/moCountry-club focused, powerful but heavy. Implementation is months. Member app feels like enterprise software from 2010.
